I have 2 fics to rec today:

Sometimes in his calmest interludes, his greatest emotional recovery from the war was just watching her. Early morning at the Burrow; days after the final battle; Harry and Ginny get a moment’s peace.

**I’ve been wanting to rec this since it was posted 2 weeks ago. It’s one of my favourite ways “Harry and Ginny reunite after the Final Battle.”

Fun Fact: I coincidentally met the author a couple of days after she posted this. It was awesome to actually tell her in person how much I liked it J

Harry is nearly broken by casual, well-meant cruelty. It isn't until he falls ill that he begins to find his way back home.

**I started reading the first two chapters because I was bored at work, even though the first wasn’t very appealing, but I’m so glad I did! The best thing is that the story is finished, so it’s being updated very quickly.

It’s an amazing story. Just so you get an idea, by the time chapter 4 was up, there were 180 reviews, and the review section looks more like a forum!

*A very lovely flangsty story. It’s easy to forget about the horrible year that Ginny must’ve gone through and I think it’s captured really well in this fic.

My Fanfic Obsession

After OotP came out, I turned into a huge Harry/Ginny shipper. All I wanted was for them to get together. Before that, I think I always wanted Ginny to get Harry to notice her, cause you feel bad for her in CoS, what with being all clumsy and mute in front of him; and the thing that made me realize that there was hope for them was that Harry was always so nice to her.

Before HBP, my prediction was that Harry was going to fall for Ginny. So when I read HBP, I was so excited and thrilled when they finally got together, and I was so happy for them; it was just what Harry needed, some normalcy. For once in his life, he was truly happy. So obviously when Harry started thinking of breaking up with her, it broke my heart. Seriously, I had just about stopped crying from the funeral, and I remember reading that paragraph where he starts thinking of all the people who'd died because they loved him, and it finally hit me (albeit a little late, cause after Dumbledore died, he did think of doing that). I completely broke down; I had to stop reading and I started begging Harry not to do it. I was sobbing uncontrollably. You know, I cried so much during those last chapters, that it took me like two hours to read. I don't even know how I could see at all. It completely broke my heart that Harry had to do this, and I understand why he thinks so, but he is so wrong. Dumbledore said it at the end of OotP: "I was trying, in distancing myself from you, to protect you." This is the same thing he did to Ginny. Harry's got to learn that he's stronger when the people he loves are close. And he's going to be miserable without Ginny, because they love each other. Even if they haven't said it, it's implied in the break-up scene. It was a declaration of love.

Anyways, about a month after OotP came out, I accidentally discovered the Fandom. I was just visiting Leaky and there was a post about some Fan Art, and I found the most marvellous drawings from Marta and I noticed that there were some links to stories, so I went to check them out. They were Ron/Hermione fics at The Sugar Quill. So after reading a couple, I was in dire need of some H/G fics. I was lucky enough that the site Sink Into Your Eyes had just re-opened at the beginning of August 2003. I spent every weekend after that reading fics till the early morning hours. I became addicted; I couldn't go a day without it. And since I have no life, I live through this couple. Back then, I had limited internet access, so I started saving fics I liked in my computer. It's been three years and I now have almost 700 fics saved. About 99% of them are H/G fics, but I've also got some R/H fics.

So this journal is where I'm going to post all my favourite fics. I'll just have to categorize them, there are so many.
